Wellness and health has been a key factor in my life. Not only for my physical but also for my emotional wellbeing. Fitness has been a staple during some of the most pivotal moments of my life. No matter how stressful life could feel at times, focusing on good habits has always been a healthy outlet. My goal is to inspire others to fall in love with the process of implementing a healthy lifestyle.
I have my Bachelors in Psychology and Minor in Marriage and Family Therapy. I also have a Master of Science in School Psychology. I work for the Clark County School District.
I started as a student and genuinely fell in love with the practice and the community at my local studio. I wanted to create that same inviting and encouraging environment for others. In becoming an instructor, I get the opportunity to nurture this environment, and hopefully providing that same experience to others.
While sequencing and music can play a major role in a successful class, I believe it really comes down to showing up for your students in a holistic way. Everything from a warm embrace before class to your authenticity throughout their experience. I firmly believe that showing up genuinely excited to teach is evident to them and nurturing that genuine connection builds engagement.
I try to build a sense of community in my classes by making sure students are seen and validated—learning their names and showing interest in them as individuals. When it comes to supporting and encouraging students, I always keep in mind that the classes are for them, so I request music or areas they want to target in workouts. I try my best to cater to their interests.
As a self-proclaimed introvert, I am most proud of the confidence I’ve created within myself since becoming an instructor. The outgoingness, high-energy, and talkativeness I embody as an instructor, slowly unfolded over time.
